Novice section (not rated):

5 rounds at approximately 12, 12:50, 1:40, 2:30, and 3:20pm
Using clocks (15 minutes with 5 second delay) and writing down your moves are encouraged but optional. However, a clock set with 5 minutes per side may be put in place for games that are holding up the next round.

Guaranteed prizes: 1st $80, 2nd $50, 3rd $30.

Entry fee $10 for the general public, free for students in the Black River Falls school district

All rounds will be Swiss paired

As time permits, registered players are free to use the venue’s recreational facilities between rounds. Because of this option, new guests are required to sign a liability waiver. You can do so online at https://form.jotform.com/211035030320027 or at the door upon arrival. Please note that we will use the address you provide on this form to mail you a check in the event that you win a prize but leave before the final game has finished.
Ample free parking is available on site, and food will be available for purchase for those who wish to stay close between rounds.

Refund policy: If you register for the tournament but are unable to attend, we will refund your entry fee less $5 for administration if you notify us by 10 a.m. on Friday, April 25th.
